Ken Caryl Junior Baseball (KCJB) is an extension of Ken Caryl Little League that fields teams in the Arapahoe Youth League at the 13U and 14U age levels. While unaffiliated with Little League International, KCJB is made up of teams formed from players who have aged out the Majors level of KCLL and wish to continue playing at the 13U and 14U levels within the Ken Caryl baseball community, preserving our culture while offering opportunities to play against a greater variety of area baseball teams. KCJB shares a board of directors with KCLL, and shares its mission of providing high quality baseball at an accessible cost for every kid who wants to play.
These teams allow for players at different stages in their development to continue their baseball journey at a level appropriate for them. This means that a former All Star team could stay together and play in a division that would offer high challenge, while players who are still earlier in their development can have greater opportunities playing on a team versus teams of similar ability.
As a new AYL club in 2025, KCJB will begin as a satellite of South Jeffco, meaning our players will register through South Jeffco, but remain an independent organization with a unique team name, uniforms, coaches, practice fields, and organizational oversight.
TEAM FORMATION
KCJB differs from KCLL in that our teams are formed based on where players are at in their development. At these age levels, players improve and grow most when playing against competition at a similar level of play.
As such, we do not have an "open draft" for teams in this program. Coaches of higher level teams will assess players via tryout/assessment, and may offer players a place on their roster. ALL players will be offered a spot on a AA National roster (AA American if 14U and not selected to CPREP) if not selected for a higher level team. We will always remain a "no-cut" organization.
Tryouts for Spring '25 teams will happen mid-October to form teams for Winter workouts, and registration will be taken throughout the winter until our registration deadline. Players who register after the October tryout will be asked to attend an assessment for team placement.
